Terms of Service

By using SaveThisMedia you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

An independent, third-party service

This service is an independent third-party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X, Twitter, or TikTok.

SaveThisMedia is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to X Corp., Twitter, TikTok or ByteDance Ltd. in any way. The names, trademarks, logos and content of those services remain the property of their respective owners. We use their names only to identify which links this tool is compatible with.

What the service does

SaveThisMedia is a technical tool. You give it the address of a publicly visible post on X (formerly Twitter); it reads the media addresses that the platform itself publishes for that post and hands them to your browser so you can save the file. It can also bundle several files into a ZIP archive and cut a chosen span out of a video.

We host no media. Every file originates from the content delivery network of the platform it was posted on and is never stored on our servers. We maintain no library, no archive and no searchable index of anyone’s content.

What the service does not do

These are limits of the software itself, not only promises:

  • It does not bypass authentication and does not access private, protected or restricted accounts. If a post is not visible to the public, it is not visible to this tool either.
  • It does not bypass CAPTCHA, DRM, encryption, paywalls or any other technical protection or access control measure.
  • It does not defeat or evade any platform’s rate limits.
  • It never asks for, collects or stores your password, login cookies or session tokens for any other service, and it does not scrape content that sits behind a login.
  • It does not remove creator watermarks. Where a platform burns its own watermark into the stream it publishes, that mark is in the file before this tool ever sees it, and it is left alone.
  • It does not rehost or republish anything. There is no public media library here.

Your responsibilities

Copyright in a video or photo belongs to whoever created it. Downloading does not transfer copyright or ownership to you, and it grants you no licence to use the work. You are solely responsible for what you download and for what you do with it afterwards.

A notice above the download button states that by downloading you confirm you own the content or have the necessary rights or permission. That confirmation is a condition of using the service, and you agree that you will:

  • Only download content you own, created yourself, or have the legal right or permission to download.
  • Comply with copyright, intellectual property, privacy, publicity and all other applicable laws in your own jurisdiction.
  • Comply with the terms of service of the platform the content came from.
  • Not infringe anyone’s rights in any way.
  • Not impersonate a creator, claim authorship of someone else’s content, or present it as your own.
  • Not remove or circumvent copyright management information, watermarks, DRM, authentication, access controls, CAPTCHA, rate limits or any other technical protection measure - whether through this service or with the files you obtain from it.
  • Not attempt to download private, restricted, deleted or otherwise access-controlled content.
  • Not use the service for any illegal, abusive, fraudulent or harmful activity, including harassment or obtaining material that is unlawful to possess or distribute.
  • Not overload, scrape, automate against or otherwise interfere with the service, and not circumvent its rate limits.

Downloading content in order to republish, redistribute or monetise it without permission is copyright infringement. It is against these terms, and doing it is your liability, not ours.

Enforcement and legal requests

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend or terminate access to the service, in whole or in part and without notice, for anyone who breaks these terms, abuses the service, or places an unreasonable load on it.

We will cooperate with valid legal requests from competent authorities and with properly made copyright complaints, in accordance with applicable law. Our Copyright and DMCA Policy explains how to make such a complaint and how it is reviewed.

Availability

The service is provided free of charge and on an “as is” basis. It depends entirely on third-party platforms we do not control, so it may be interrupted, rate limited, degraded or discontinued at any time and without notice. Some media is licensed by region and its host will refuse it to our server even though your own browser could fetch it - when that happens the tool tells you so and offers you the original link instead.

We give no warranty that the service will be available, error free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we do not guarantee that any given link will work.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SaveThisMedia is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, nor for any claim brought against you as a result of what you chose to download. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change; the revision date at the top of this page tells you when they last did. Nothing here removes the consumer rights you have where you live, which apply whatever these terms say.
